Our Mission is Your Safety and Health

Mission San Juan Capistrano is taking steps gradually reopen. Our mission, or purpose, has always been to keep everyone healthy and safe during any visit to the Mission. However, these unprecedented times call for us to review our process and develop an opening plan that assures everyone of this commitment. As a result, we sent out a survey and received over 450 responses telling us what guests would like as part of our reopen plan.

In working with the CDC, State, County, and Diocesan guidelines for the care and protection of public health, and listening to our supporters, we will be opening with a few modifications including:
We’re asking guest to:
  • Brings in their own drinking water
  • Wear masks
  • Practice social distancing at all times
  • Encouraging membership and ticket sales to occur online or via mobile when possible
Mission San Juan Capistrano staff is working to:
  • Redirecting travel ways
  • Close a few rooms and features temporarily
  • Reducing occupancy in our Mission Store (available online and for curbside delivery)
  • Allowing for one way in only
  • Temporarily stopping large group tours (small VIP group tours available with reservations)
