Onsite Experiences

VIP Guided Tour

Book a VIP guided group tour and explore the Mission grounds. Explore the wine vat, visit the private Sacristy of the Ruins, and touch the historic Mission bells! This is the up close experience our visitors truly appreciate.

On this tour, guests are led by a guide, with a special transmitter to ensure safe touring. This exclusive tour includes gifts for each guest in the group (adults receive a pin and children receive a bracelet). Our hands-on brick making program, Mission Matters, is also available as an add-on (as available). Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen for your tour.

These tours are available in advance by reservation or onsite at the Gate House.

At Home Offerings

Live Guided Virtual Field Trip

Explore the Mission’s beautiful grounds and historic past with an expert Mission guide. From the cultural traditions of the local Acjachemen people, to the picturesque gardens, and one-of-a-kind Serra Chapel, there is something for everyone. This interactive virtual experience is perfect for adults and children of all ages to enjoy together. Booking reservations are good During this interactive virtual tour experience a Mission guide will lead your class on an exclusive tour of the Mission, exploring history and highlighting special historic artifacts and one-of-a-kind Mission locations such as the Serra Chapel and the Ruins of the Great Stone Church. This program is a private experience for the class/school that has booked and will not be open to other classes/schools to join. This program is designed to be taught as a Zoom Meeting experience (where students can see and hear each other) for groups of up to 70 students at a time. Program aligns with CA HSS (3.2.1 ,3.2.2 ,3.2.4,
 3.3.1, 3.3.2; 4.2.1, 4.2.3, 4.2.4, 4.2.5, 4.2.6).

Capacity: Maximum of 2 classes of up to 35 students each per session
Cost: $175 as part of the entire Virtual Field Trip Package


Explorer Passport Print at Home Activity

A children’s educational tour booklet, which features a walking map, interesting historical facts, and games that teach about Mission history. This learning tool is included for free and features a guide that students can work from during their visit.
