Saint Serra’s Legacy: History Tour of Mission Church Sites
Tour guests are invited to go behind the scenes and explore the legacy of Saint Serra, as well as Mission San Juan Capistrano’s current and former church buildings that have stood from 1782 to the present day.
The tour also explores historic Serra Chapel (the only remaining church in which Saint Serra celebrated Mass), the ruins of the Great Stone Church, the former Sala Church, and the modern Mission Basilica. A Mission guide leads guests through more than 200 years of Mission church history.
Guests learn about the Mission’s Catholic heritage, and explore areas not accessible to the general public, such as the sacristy of Serra Chapel.
