Mission San Juan Capistrano, with the generous support
of the Thomas J. and Erma Jean Tracy Foundation, presents
the Fifth Annual Battle of the Mariachi Festival,
a celebration of the talent, interpretation and inspiration
of young musicians from across Southern California.
Please join us in the beautiful Mission Courtyard
for a day full of live musical entertainment, bilingual
puppet shows, workshops provided by Ballet Folklorico
de San Juan Capistrano, and of course, authentic Mexican
food.
Mariachi performers will compete for cash prizes
before a panel of judges to include mariachi director,
Alberto “Beto” Jimenez Maeda. First place winners
will receive the opportunity to open this evening’s
Music Under the Stars concert for Grammy Winning group,
The Mariachi Divas! Tickets for the evening’s concert
begin at $20 per person and are being sold separately
on the Mission website by clicking

Picnics and shade umbrellas are allowed, but alcohol
is strictly prohibited.
This event is free with paid admission to the Mission.
Tickets for the Mariachi Divas concert will
be sold at the Front Gate. Gates for the evening concert
open at 5:30 p.m.
