EVENT INFORMATION
Mission San Juan Capistrano presents, with the generous support of the Thomas J. and Erma Jean Tracy Family Foundation, the Ninth Annual Battle of the Mariachis Festival on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Join us in the beautiful Mission Courtyard for this highly-anticipated celebration of talent, interpretation and inspiration of Mariachi music.

Don’t miss this full day of live musical entertainment and great food as Mariachi performers compete for cash prizes before a distinguished panel of judges. The festivities also include: ringing of the historic bells, folkloric performances by Ballet Folklorico of San Juan Capistrano, bilingual marionette shows and exhibition performances by local Capistrano Community Mariachi Program.

TICKET INFORMATION

Cost of General Admission to this Signature Event is:

$10 for Adults, $9 for Seniors (60+) and $6 for Children (Ages 4-11)

FREE for Mission Preservation Society Members and Current Volunteers with I.D. and Children 3 and Under

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Gate House or on event day. Non-reserved event seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Early arrival is highly recommended. Mission opens at 9:00 a.m.

Vocalist, Genesis Codina Our dear friend of the Mission, Miss Genesis Codina,  beautiful ranchera singer and performer with the annual Battle of the Mariachis Festival, has been fighting a battle of her own against thyroid cancer since last July. We will greatly miss her performance this year, but continue to be inspired by her strength, resilience and vivacious spirit.
