Jennifer Ring, Museum Registrar

Jennifer Ring is a newcomer to the Historic Mission but has already made a big impact as the Museum Registrar, responsible for overseeingĀ the care, handling and tracking of the Mission’s permanent collection of art and artifacts. She also works with other Mission team members on the presentation of exhibitions.

Ring earned her bachelor of arts degree in history from Cal State Fullerton, and worked in registration and collections management for many years at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana.

Ring is a member of theĀ American Association of Museums and the Registrars Committee of the American Association of Museums.

She was born in the city of Orange and has been a resident of Orange her entire life. Ring, who has been married for 10 years and has two daughters, loves to spend time with her family and volunteer at her daughters' school. She also likes to read, travel and visit museums.

"My favorite thing about my job at Mission San Juan Capistrano is having the rare privilege of being able to work “hands-on” with the art and artifacts in the Mission’s collection.  Some of the objects are interesting, some are quirky, some are priceless but all are important pieces of the puzzle of the Mission's history and of Orange County’s history.  I consider myself fortunate to be able to surround myself with such treasures everyday."
